The North Coast Men’s Chorus participated in the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony April 17th of Providence House’s Prentiss Wellness Nursery. This Wellness Nursery is safe place for children in crisis with medical needs and forms of developmental disabilities, whose parents maybe struggling to cope with their children’s medical care, possibly challenged with homeless or unsafe living conditions.  Providence House spoke to their appreciation, support and donation.

The pictures reflect what a wonderful gift we gave these children in crisis with medical needs. The goal of the Wellness Center is to provide needed services to at least 100 children within the first year of opening.  The North Coast Men’s Chorus presented these children with 100 stuffed animals to help them feel more comfortable and to provide them something to hold on to that will stay with them through their time in the Center.

The ceremony was hosted by Natalie Leek-Nelson and her staff, the Board represented by Duane Bishop, Jr., Board Chair and Vice President and COO of Forest City Enterprises. Sister Hope Greener, C.S.J. Providence House Founder, did the Opening Prayer and there were many members of the community present. Some of the speakers at the ceremony were Armond Budish, Cuyahoga County Executive, Joe Cimperman, Ward 3 City Councilman. The closing of the ceremony with the ribbon cutting was with a blessing for the Wellness Nursery by Pastor Allen Harris, Franklin Circle Church who spoke of the children and what a blessing it was to serve our community in the care of these children.

NCMC will continue to support Providence House as we have in the past with “Deck the House” and in some of the Mardi Gras events raising funds to support their Mission. In the future the Chorus hopes to support an outdoor clean up and landscaping day.
